H1N1 "SWINE FLU"FROM MY EXPERIENCE OF TREATING MYSELF AND MY PATIENTS FOR THE H1N1 VIRUS . . . HOW TO GET BETTER IN 5 DAYS - OR MAYBE AVOID IT ALTOGETHER! H1N1 can be a mild illness, that with the appropriate homeopathic remedy to hand can be resolved in just 5 days. The preferred approach for my patients is to have the "genus epidemicus" homeopathic remedy to hand when flu strikes. Many of my patients also like to take it in advance, for example when they have reason to believe that they may have been in contact with the virus. As the homeopathic remedy is 100% safe, with no side effects (unlike the conventional alternatives, this can be safely recommended. While homeopaths prefer to treat each patient as an individual - in epidemics this is often not possible. For this reason we use the "genus epidemicus"; that is the remedy which most closely matches the symptoms that most people experience from the epidemic. In the case of H1N1, the genus epidemicus is (I can say from first hand experience)an extremely good match - and for this reason appears to be very effective. To request the genus epidemicus for just £45 email robertesteward@ymail.com giving your name, address, and telephone number. You will be contacted quickly and pay by debit card or credit card, and your remedy will be despatched by first class post the same day. For those of you interested to know more about the success of homeopathy in previous epidemics, you can read the following article by Melanie Grimes.
(NaturalNews) Homeopathy was successful in treating the flu epidemic of 1918 and can provide answers to questions about the 2009 Swine Flu. Homeopathy can provide quick and inexpensive relief for symptoms of the flu. A system of medicine based on the principles of "like cures like," homeopathy uses plant, mineral and animal sources for the natural flu remedies. Homeopathy is based on ideas from ideas dating back to Egyptian medicine. The term "homeopathy" was coined by the medical doctor and medical reformer, Samuel Hahnemann in the 1800s. Homeopathic remedies have been used to treat flu symptoms for two centuries.
Was homeopathy successful in treating the flu epidemic of 1918? Yes. While the mortality rate of people treated with traditional medicine and drugs was 30 percent, those treated by homeopathic physicians had mortality rate of 1.05 percent. Of the fifteen hundred cases reported at the Homeopathic Medical Society of the District of Columbia there were only fifteen deaths. Recoveries in the National Homeopathic Hospital were 100%. In Ohio, of 1,000 cases of influenza, Dr. T. A. McCann, MD, Dayton, Ohio reported NO DEATHS.
What homeopathic remedies were used to successfully treat the Spanish flu in 1918? Gelsemium and Bryonia According the Dr. Frank Wieland, MD, in Chicago, "(With) 8,000 workers we had only one death. Gelsemium was practically the only remedy used. We used no aspirin and no vaccines."
Homeopathy was 98% successful in treating the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918? Yes. Ohio reported that 24,000 cases of flu treated allopathically had a mortality rate of 28.2% while 26,000 cases of flu treated homeopathically had a mortality rate of 1.05% . In Connecticut, 6,602 cases were reported, with 55 deaths, less than 1%. Dr. Roberts, a physician on a troop ship during WWI, had 81 cases of flu on the way over to Europe. He reported, "All recovered and were landed. Every man received homeopathic treatment.
How do they know that a virus caused the flu epidemic of 1918, when the first virus was not isolated until 1933? They don`t. In fact, many believe that the epidemic was actually a vaccine reaction. When Army vaccinations became compulsory in 1911, the death rate from typhoid vaccination rose to the highest point in the history of the US Army. US Secretary of War Henry L Stimson reported that seven men dropped dead after being vaccinated. He also reported 63 deaths and 28,585 cases of hepatitis as a direct result of yellow fever vaccination during only six months of WW1. According to a report in the Irish Examiner, "The report of the Surgeon-General of the US Army shows that during 1917 there were admitted into the army hospitals 19,608 men suffering from anti-typhoid inoculation and vaccinia. When army doctors tried to suppress the symptoms of typhoid with a stronger vaccine, it caused a worse form of typhoid paratyphoid. But when they concocted an even stronger vaccine to suppress that one, they created an even worse disease Spanish flu."
Did the flu strain that caused the 1918 flu ever return? Yes. The 1918 `Spanish Flu` was first reported in an American military, Camp Funston, Fort Riley, in troops preparing for WW1 and receiving 25 vaccinations. According to the CDC, the same flu strain appeared only one other time: in 1976. This was again at a US army base, Fort Dix, and again, was seen in recently vaccinated troops, and only in them. The virus has not appeared anywhere else.
Is homeopathy successful in treating the modern flu? Yes.
What can I do to prevent the flu? Good food, clean living, rest and exercise are the basic ingredients. There are certain nutrients that have been shown to help enhance the immune system, such as echinacea, vitamins C, E and beta carotene, zinc, and elderberries.

Latest news on the H1N1 virus (Swine Flu): Experts say children should not be given the swine flu drug Tamiflu because the negative effects could outweigh the benefits. The Department of Health is under pressure to hold an urgent rethink of its current policy.
The study found that Tamiflu caused vomiting in some children, which can lead to dehydration and complications.
The drug also had little or no effect on asthma flare-ups, ear infections or the likelihood of a youngster needing antibiotics.
Dr Carl Henegan, a GP and expert from the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, said the current policy of giving Tamiflu for mild illness was an "inappropriate strategy".
He added: "The downside of the harms outweigh the one-day reduction in symptomatic benefits."
The study comes little over a week after other research found that children given Tamiflu preventatively reported side-effects including nausea and nightmares.
Remember if symptoms are severe, a high fever and or lethergy are present - always contact your Doctor.
AUTISM
Autism is a neurological disability that affects an individual’s ability to communicate and socialize with others. They might also be experiencing issues with motor skills and processing information as well. Autism affects each child and adult differently. There is no such thing as typical Autism behaviors.
The exact cause of Autism is not known. It is believed to be the result of abnormalities in the brain structure. Brain scans of individuals who have been diagnosed with Autism show such differences. It is also believed that heredity and genetics play a role in the development of Autism.
Autism often occurs in those who have other medical issues including Fragile X Syndrome, Sclerosis, Rubella, and toxic diseases that are related to issues during the pregnancy. There is a debate that standard vaccinations can result in Autism as well.
Regardless of the reasons behind Autism, there are some myths out there that result from uneducated individuals. This includes the idea that Autism is the result of poor parenting during the early years of a child’s development. There is also the myth that Autism is a mental illness. There is no evidence to support that idea.
Taking the time to learn the basics of Autism will be beneficial. There are many terms to be aware of. Knowing the basics can help you decide what step to take next. You can also find great resources to provide information and help for your Autistic child. Early identification and diagnosis are key. If you feel your child might have Autism it is a good idea to get an evaluation conducted by a qualified doctor with knowledge of Autism.
The education process of Autism can be challenging for those with the disability as well as parents and caregivers. This is because there are so many variables to take into consideration. Support groups are an excellent source of information and emotional release. Working with qualified individuals to set up an Individual Education Plan is a great idea.
There is still much we don’t know about Autism. However, it is possible to live with an Autistic child and still have a fairly normal home life. This means taking the time to understand the disability, seek out resources, and find support for yourself and other members of your family.
Autism Symptoms
Autism is a developmental disability that causes difficulty communicating and socializing. It is the result of a neurological disorder. The symptoms of Autism generally take place within the first three years of a person’s life. There are particular behaviors to look for if a child you know might have Autism. Autistic individuals are very resistant to change. They have to have a regular routine to follow each day. They may have a hard time expressing their needs, choosing to point or make sounds rather than speaking.
Some individuals with Autism repeat particular words or phrases again and again. They may have periods where they laugh or cry for no apparent reason. They are prone to throwing fits and tantrums. They often prefer to be alone because they have difficulty communicating and socializing with others.
Most Autistic individuals prefer not to be touched. They don’t enjoy cuddling or hugging. They also avoid eye contact. Watch how the child plays as they may exhibit unusual play habits. They may also not listen or respond to sounds, yet have excellent scores on hearing tests.
Every individual with Autism exhibits different symptoms. Some people have several of the items listed here while others only have one or two. It depends on the level of the disability. This can make identifying Autism very difficult. If you think your child may have Autism consult a doctor that specializes in the disability for a qualified diagnosis.
What is known is that Autism affects 1 in 166 children regardless of the race, colour, or economic status. It is the fastest growing developmental disability. Programs need to be developed to help those with Autism lead normal lives as much as possible. Over $90 million dollars is spent each year in the United States for the care of Autistic adults.
If your child portrays symptoms consistent with Autism, have them evaluated by a professional with experience with the disability. Your family doctor may not be the best person to evaluate the situation. The sooner you rule out or identify Autism as the culprit for your child’s behaviors and symptoms the more you will be able to do in an effort to help your child.
Children with Autism
Children with Autism can be difficult to understand or work with. The child in mind can be your own, someone you provide care for, or even a student in your class. It is important that you are familiar with the subject of Autism if you are around someone with this particular disability. Children with Autism won’t all act the same just as normal children don’t all act the same. Therefore it is important that you are able to relate to the particular child with Autism that you are exposed to in a matter that is appropriate and acceptable to everyone involved.
There are many behaviors some children with Autism exhibit that can be very trying for parents and caregivers. They can also become so disruptive in the school environment that other options will have to be explored. These behaviors include clapping, snapping, and head banging at times that disrupt others. Continual rocking is very common. More severe behavioral issues include biting themselves and self mutilation.
It is important to understand that children with Autism can be easily upset and angry about their inability to communicate and interact socially. While they understand they aren’t able to do these things effectively, they really don’t understand the pattern and concepts of effective communication. They may start repeating particular phrases or sentences over and over again.
It is important to encourage children with Autism to participate in activities they are good at. This helps them develop a sense of control and belonging. Many autistic children excel in the areas of art, drawing, and computer programming. These activities can also be used as leverage and rewards for good behaviours.
If you think your child may be affected by Autism, there are several things to look for. It is also a good idea to have your child evaluated by a professional who specializes in the disability. Your primary care physician may not have enough experience with Autism to make a proper diagnosis.
Most children who develop Autism will show symptoms of the disability by the time they are three years old. If your child is not meeting milestones in a timely fashion, they may have Autism. The sooner a diagnosis is made the more options you will have for helping your child.
Autism Treatment
It can be shocking and devasting to a family to discover a child has Autism. It can be a complete surprise. In most cases though the parent’s had a feeling something was not right with the development of their child, they just didn’t know what the issue was. There are many issues to deal with when handling a child with Autism. You need to know how to inform other family members, the abilities of your child, and how to help them prepare for the future. Most parents want to find reliable information on the issue of Autism to read up on.
While it is quite different to raise a child with Autism than normal children, it can be done. The key is to educate yourself and establish realistic goals and expectations. There are many community and national organizations that can offer you resources and support for dealing with Autism.
There is no cure for Autism, but there are effective ways of dealing with it. Getting a diagnosis of your child’s level of disability is a good place to start. Intervention from an early point is essential to teach the child effective skills for coping, communicating, and socializing. You may have to try several different treatment methods before you find one that will work for your Autistic child and your family. In most cases, the ideal treatment will be a combination of many things.
Therapy is very effective for children with Autism. This should be done with a certified Speech Therapist. This will help your child develop the proper skills for communicating. Your child might qualify for Early Intervention assistance programs. Check with your doctor or online to find out more about such programs in your area.
There are numerous treatment options for Autism that are designed to work with the areas of social problems, language issues, sensory problems, and behavior issues. Applied Behavior Analysis involves rewarding good behaviours while ignoring other behaviours. This is a great method for teaching basic skills including eating and getting dressed. The Picture Exchange System involves teaching children effective communication. It involves exchanging pictures for something the child wants.
Pivotal Response Treatment is considered to be one of the most effective methods for treating Autism. It is designed to create positive results in the area of critical behaviors. It involves teaching motivation and self management skills. This treatment method allows those affected by Autism to have a choice in matters.
The key to effective Autism treatment is working with the child and the family unit to discover what will work best. This can be done by working with professionals to address the particular needs of your child. Then a plan can be devised that works to identify and meet goals. One key goal should be to help prepare the child for dealing with the issue of Autism throughout their life.
BIRD FLU (article posted 9/02/07)As a homeopath I help many patients each year to reduce their chances of getting influenza. So I was not too surprised this Autumn, when a patient who has kept ‘flu free for many years by using homeopathic remedies rather than vaccination, asked me for advice on avoiding the risk of infection should ‘bird flu’ hit these shores. Well now we know that it's here - and in it's most deadly form. Government sources said today that although contaminated turkey meat may be on the shelves of our supermarkets "there is no evidence that eating contaminated meat will cause infection. Well that's not quite the same as saying it won't is it? In any case are we consumers really happy to buy and eat meat infected with a deadly virus? Apart from the obvious precaution of avoiding contact with infected birds, animals or people, the following is a list of actions that anyone can take, and which are proven by scientific research to help reduce the risk of infection. In addition, I have identified a homeopathic remedy, produced from a respiratory infection found in birds, which may reduce the risk of infection still further, based on the homeopathic principal of like curing like. An added bonus is that it is free of the side effects and toxins present in conventional vaccines, which in any case do not prevent `bird flu'. How to protect yourself: The best protection for everyone is a healthy immune system. Make sure you have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (organic if possible) and quality protein. Avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates (sugar depresses protective immune responses for more than five hours). Supplements Scientifically Proven To Support Resistance To Infection Vitamins Vitamin C - take between 500mg and one gram daily. Increase up to six grams per day in divided doses at first sign of infection. Vitamin E, D and selenium are known to boost the immune system - as is zinc, which has been shown to slow viral replication. Herbs Shown To Be Useful Astragalus and Echinacea are excellent anti viral herbs for giving the immune system a kick-start. What To Do If You Do Get A Virus Stay at home, keep warm, rest, and drink plenty of water. Use a proven pathogen destroyer such as oil of oregano and/or garlic. There are many homeopathic remedies used to support ‘flu' sufferers including osillococcinum - proven successful in double blind studies for the early stages of ‘flu', Gelsemium, Bryonia, Eupatorium and Rhus Tox. For an appointment with me, or to buy a homeopathic kit (£36-00) or a copy of my book, Simple Guide to Using Homeopathy (£4-99) ring 01323 842633. And don’t forget the homemade chicken soup - scientific studies show that it really helps!
